About DRIFIRE® FR/AR

High Performance Duck (9.5oz / 322gsm)

Modern FR/AR Duck material departs from the stiff, heavy firm Duck canvases of the past. By using lighter high performance technology such as Quick Duck composites, PPE can be engineered to provide industrial safety protection while significantly reducing the heavy, restrictive weight of traditional canvas work apparel. Composite blends with Cotton or Nylon allow PPE to have little or no-break in time. These technical fabrications reduce wearer fatigue while maintaining the same rugged resistance to thermal hazards, snags and tears. 

High Performance Duck fabric stands out as a premier material for PPE and industrial work wear because of its exceptional physical durability, tight-plain weave and reliable environmental shielding. Unlike lightweight work wear textiles, Duck provides heavy-duty mechanical and extreme thermal hazard protection. 

 

Thermal Protective Performance (TPP)

ARC THERMAL PERFORMANCE VALUE (ATPV 14 cal/cm2): This value represents the maximum incident thermal energy the fabric can support before the wearer would have a 50% probability of predicting a second-degree burn.

PPE CTEGORY 2: The fabric meets standard workplace safety guidelines requiring protection against immediate electrical arc flash risks (NFPA 70E).

DUAL-HAZARD PROTECTION: The fabric provides simultaneous protection against both arc flash (NFPA 70E) and flash fire (NFPA 2112).

INHERENT FLAME RESISTANCE: The thermal protection is integrated directly into the fabric fibres. It cannot wash out or wear out over time maintaining the fabric's safety properties for the life of the garment.

NO-MELT, NO-DRIP: Under extreme thermal exposure, the 9.5oz High Performance Duck fabric will not melt, drip or fuse to the skin, which significantly prevents severe compound burn injuries.

HEAT MANAGEMENT AND BREATHABILITY: Despite its heavy-duty 9.5oz construction, the fabric is engineered to be breathable. It incorporates moisture wicking technology that accelerates drying to help regulate body temperature and minimise heat stress in hot climates and industrial environments.

The ultimate heavy duty Pant: The DRIFIRE® FR/AR Heavy Duty High Performance Utility Pant features durable construction and breathable FR/AR Duck fabric. These Pants have a number of functional features including a cargo pocket with flap (LHS) and a double tool pocket (RHS) that will fit a variety of tools.

  • Read the garment label and launder per instructions on garment label.
  • Machine wash warm on maximum 60°C (140°F). Use mild detergent. Tumble dry on medium setting.
  • DO NOT iron, use chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide, fabric softener or starch.
  • Wash according to the instructions above to remove any contaminants in order to maintain fabric performance when the garment becomes soiled with dirt, grease or oils.
  • If contaminants cannot be removed after laundering, it is best to discontinue use of the garment.
