Fabric: Nomex® | Kevlar®

Arclin Nomex® is an inherently heat and flame resistant meta-aramid fibre that won't melt, drip or support combustion in air, providing a superior barrier for what's inside from the hazards around it. The unique structure of Nomex® fibre is non-flammable, so performance is built in and can't be washed or worn away. When Nomex® is exposed to intense heat, its fibres thicken and carbonise, absorbing heat energy in the process. The molecular structure of Nomex® not only prevents heat from passing through but also prevents electricity flowing through when exposed to electrical arc. The fibre is also highly resistant to most common acids and alkalis, fluorocarbon refrigerants, transformer oil and silicon. 

Arclin Kevlar® is an inherently heat and flame resistant para-aramid synthetic fibre with a molecular structure of many inter-chain bonds that make it incredibly strong. It is best known for its use in ballistic body armour. Kevlar® also has many other applications due to its high tensile strength-to-weight ratio - it is roughly five times stronger than steel on an equal weight basis. Kevlar's® key working principles rely on a combination of advanced molecular engineering and specialised fibre structure, enabling it to absorb, distribute and dissipate high-velocity kinetic energy while also protecting against arc flash and extreme thermal hazards. It does not melt, drip or support combustion. Kevlar's® molecular structure allows it to maintain structural integrity and protect wearers at temperatures up to 450°C (842°F).

Moisture Barrier: Composite Film w/ CCT™ Technology 

Composite film fabric with CCT Technology™ is a specialised material used in high-performance protective solutions designed primarily to reduce heat stress while providing multi-hazard protection. The material offers significant weight reduction allowing ArcLite Air™ to be 40% lighter than the lightest alternative arc rated products.
