NFPA 70E PPE Category 2 (Minimum 8 cal/cm2)
PPE Category 2 is common for daily electrical work. The category requires arc rated Shirts and Pants or Coveralls that meet the 8 cal/cm2 minimum Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV). Crucially, the category also requires an arc rated Balaclava and arc rated Face Shield or a full arc flash Suit Hood.
Hearing protection and safety glasses are mandatory.
