Fabric: 50% Nomex® | 50% FR Rayon
A Nomex™/FR Rayon blend is typically used in premium FR/AR protective workwear to balance safety with all-day comfort, providing a superior alternative to heavier, less comfortable materials. While Nomex® is well known for its excellent FR/AR properties, flame resistant Rayon is a semi-synthetic cellulosic fibre designed to provide permanent FR protection while maintaining the soft, breathable comfort of conventional Rayon. When blended, these fibres interact synergistically to form a stable char layer upon exposure to heat. The resulting char barrier acts as a protective shield, limiting oxygen flow to the flame, preventing combustion in the air and reducing heat transmission to the skin.
Face Cloth: Modacrylic | Cotton | Antistatic
A blend of modacrylic, cotton and antistatic fibres combine three distinct properties - inherent flame resistance, natural comfort and electrical conductivity. The blend creates a high-performance fabric that balances safety, comfort and durability. The combination is widely used in PPE for dangerous environments, providing inherent FR/AR properties, moisture management, preventative antistatic properties and high durability. This synergistic combination ensures safety against flame and electrostatic discharge (ESD) while maintaining breathability and comfort for the wearer.
Moisture Barrier: PTFE
PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) provides a high-performance, hydrophobic and extremely chemically inert shield that prevents water intrusion while allowing breathability, making it an ideal protective coating. It has a high melting point and low friction. Fabrics are typically engineered by coating or blending PTFE with other high-performance fibres, such as Nomex® and Kevlar® aramids to create protective workwear for demanding industrial environments, including electrical arc flash hazards.
