NSA's CARBON ARMOUR™ BK is a specialised, high-performance flame resistant and arc rated fabric created by NSA primarily for protective base layers such as Shirts and long undergarments. The "BK" in the name simply stands for Black colour. It is manufactured from a 7.7oz/261gsm Oxidised Polyacrylonitrile Fibre (OPF) carbon blend knit. This creates a fabric designed to act as a shield against extreme heat and arc flash, while keeping the wearer comfortable underneath heavy industrial apparel.
Performance Features
- Will not melt, drip or ignite when exposed to open flame or extreme heat.
- Inherently flame resistant: The FR/AR properties are built straight into the fibres This means the safety protection will never wash or wear out with laundering.
- A comfortable base layer: Even though it is tough, the knit structure is exceptionally soft, breathable and lightweight.
- Moisture wicking: The fabric actively pulls perspiration away from the body and dries quickly, keeping the wearer cool during long shifts.

- Read the garment label and launder per instructions on garment label.
- Machine wash warm on maximum 40°C (105°F). Use mild detergent. Tumble dry on warm setting.
- DO NOT dry clean, use chlorine bleach or fabric softeners.
- Wash according to the instructions above to remove any contaminants in order to maintain fabric performance when the garment becomes soiled with dirt, grease or oils.
- If contaminants cannot be removed after laundering, it is best to discontinue use of the garment.
