Modacrylic Blend Fleece 

FR/AR Modacrylic blend fleece fabric delivers a high-performance combination of permanent, multi-hazard protection and everyday wearer comfort. By combining synthetic Modacrylic (55%) with complimentary Cotton (45%) in a brushed fleece knit, the garment excels in harsh industrial environments. One of Modacrylic's most unique traits is its excellent blend compatibility. 

Beyond its strict safety ratings, Modacrylic is heavily favoured due to its:

  • Wool-Like-Feel: It provides a soft, flexible and comfortable texture against the skin.
  • Moisture Management: It features low moisture absorption, resulting in lower humidity within the garment's microclimate.
  • Chemical and Environmental Resistance: It offers robust resistance to acid, industrial solvents, mildew and UV degradation.
  • High-Visibility Customisation: It accepts dyes exceptionally well, making it easy to produce high-visibility garments that retain their colour after many industrial washes.

Waffle Liner

The Waffle Liner is an FR/AR insulating interior fabric lining used in heavy-duty industrial clothing. Unlike regular garment linings, it is woven into a three-dimensional grid or "waffle" pattern out of high-performance safety blends such as Modacrylic, Cotton or Nomex®. It is engineered to protect workers in electrical, utility and oil/gas sectors against extreme thermal arc flash and flash fire hazards. The recessed square pockets in the waffle trap pockets of air. This creates a lightweight, highly efficient thermal barrier that retains body heat in the cold and shields against sudden external radiant heat.

Description - The DRIFIRE® FR/AR Hybrid Lined Zip Front / Pullover Hoodie delivers dependable warmth and comfort for demanding workdays, pairing a soft midweight fleece with a warm waffle knit liner for additional insulation. The hybrid pattern is placed to help hide dirt and stains in high-contact areas. The sweatshirt also features a generously sized hood with adjustable cord locks. which provide extra coverage and versatility, while the rib-knit cuffs and secure waistband help keep warmth in, making it a reliable layer for winter conditions.

  • Read the garment label and launder per instructions on garment label.
  • Machine wash warm on maximum 60°C (140°F). Use mild detergent. Tumble dry on medium setting.
  • DO NOT iron, use chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide, fabric softener or starch.
  • Wash according to the instructions above to remove any contaminants in order to maintain fabric performance when the garment becomes soiled with dirt, grease or oils.
  • If contaminants cannot be removed after laundering, it is best to discontinue use of the garment.
